I'm currently trying to run 3 8pres with my macbook pro dual 2.0 ghz 2 gig ram to record some live gigs. I keep getting processor overload which puts digital noise (kind of pink noise sounding) on all the tracks after a couple of songs. The waveforms look fine on screen. I'm only using this setup to track so I don't have any plugins or anything else running. This happens in both DP5 and DP6. I've also tried internal harddrive and an external 800FW hard drive with no success. I feel like an idiot for buying this setup because I just can't seem to get it to work. Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Yes I dove into the manual for DP 6.0 and realized that I had changed the host buffer multiplier from 3-1 don't know why I did that, but works like a charm...only thing is now I need my band to have some better live performances so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time recording them.

LOL, that's how I feel when I record a band live and they are not happy with the out come.timothyclee wrote:..only thing is now I need my band to have some better live performances so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time recording them.

Not due to any "sonic" or "sound quality" issues. Just that they suck a lot more than they thought.
I tell em' "Lifes' a bitch when you can hear every instrument in detail". There's no hiding behind that age old excuse" it was the room or the sound guy".
All I can say is maybe hearing themselves will make them bring up their game?
Non-Violence never solved anything.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one that deals with this.
