No i'm not talking about Predator Monkeyman, i'm talking about the free VSTi(hopefully we can get a wrapper, because this synth is worth it and version1.07 of this synth has been totally overhauled, and now it's a warm phat non aliasing synth capable of some very thick leads amongst a whole host of other things.
I've heard predator on some Mackie HR824's mkII's and i was not impressed at all, it's just another Rob Papen synth that sounds like every other softsynth out there, i was totally unmoved.
Guy's honestly, either i am deaf or Absynth 4 is just more of the same ole software junk that is so prominant these days. I have heard it and played it over studio monitors, and although it has some nice lush sounds and pads, i think the Novation V synth craps all over it. The Novation is exactly the same algorithms as the hardware and sounds absolutely awesome, but the absynth is just the oh so typical softsynth tone that disgusts me. I never care a less who's using what these days, i just trust my own ears and look out for synths with a phat warm metallic clean sound capable of doing nice musical acrobatics. The zebra has nice sounds no doubt, but alas it's just way to "THIN" sounding to my ears, and thats not acceptable to me.
When i but my softsynths to complement the ones in DP it will be,Sylenth1,Novation V synth,Synth1, and possibly Nexus.
Synth 1 has a nice demo on youtube that you guys may be interested in looking at. Cheers, bye for now.

It's common for the "big-name" acts to use a large number of virtual instruments and plug-ins. It isn't just one or two you hear. And keep in mind that once the synth tracks are recorded as audio, they are further processed
with plug-ins, echoes, reverbs, distortions, whatever.
For the record, there is no such thing as the Novation V-synth. The product's name is V-station. Roland makes the V-synth, which is a hardware synth.
Don't go by what anyone tells you sounds good. Go with your own ears and try out the demos if they're available. Audio demos on a website are just like actor promo shots - they show off the product's "good side", not its drawbacks.

I believe you're out of luck, soundmaster. You cannot run a Windows VST/VSTi inside a Mac operating system, either with or without a wrapper – you can only use it in Windows on a Windows partition using either Bootcamp or Parallels on that Mac.Supported OS: Windows 98SE/Me, Windows 2000/XP (Windows2000 and Development)
Kind regards.

David,
I think bass drops are fish oil pills, taken to lower cholesterol, and the previous poster is way way OT.

I assumed them to be bass "dives" - downward portamentos, if you will, often used on the first beat of a new section in dance music to help signify its presence.
Another possibility is the much more prevalent use of this sort of thing in D&B, where bass lines themselves can comprise not much more than this, albeit usually more repetitiously.
Just guessing; I've been out of the loop so long there's no point jumping back on the train. Might as well wait for the "old age express" now; it's the next one due at the station I'm told. LOL

dave bourke! if your telling me there is no way i can use synth 1 then i am downcast downtrodden and utterly dispondant and it's gonna take me weeks to get over it. That is an absolute one in a million synth, and i can't believe it's free. Are you absolutely sure a wrapper will not work? I thought thats what wrappers were for
Oh well, would you mind explaining the whole situation to me in detail and why it won't work. Thanx.

Don't worry, be happy!
