They seem to be painfully aware of the suckiness, as they've started a blog to let people know what they're doing about it. That helps take the sting out a little, I think.

I love this quote from the 25th:
Steve Jobs has asked me to write a posting every other day or so to let everyone know what’s happening with MobileMe...
Steve Jobs has asked me... :D :D :D

As if one of his options was "Ummm... sorry... no can do, Steve. I'm a little busy, and I'll have to get to that when I have time."

I'm so out of that loop. .Mac is gone???

I just did a search at Apple.com for .Mac and there were no results. Googling it returns... Mobile ME.

What dumb ass marketing genius pulled that one out of his bottom?

.mac was moved to mobileme about two-three weeks ago. The main features are push email and such and is intended to add cool iPhone support, but so far has been kind of a mess of a rollout.

Just to throw out an opposing point, MobileMe has been working great for me so far. I know a lot of folks have been having problems. For me...iSync stopped working for me back when it was .MAC. Apple support could not even figure out why. I could no longer sync my Dual G5 running Tiger with my new Macbook Pro running Leopard. And My Entourage 2008 calendar would not sync with even the online service.

Ever since the change to MobileMe (and since I trashed my old .MAC preferences and reset the sync functions the day MobileMe began)...I can now perfectly sync my address book and calendars between MAC OSX.5, OSX.4.11, iCal, Address Book, Entourage 2008 and also Outlook 2003 on a PC running Windows XP and my windows Mobile phone. And I have not experienced any MobileMe email problems. But I admit that it is not my primary email address.
Regards,

Brian Ralston

old addresses still work, as well they will have a new address, samename@me.com

I don't like it. Everybody already knows it's all about me anyhow, they don't need reminding.
