DP6 Free Upgrade - Anyone received theirs yet?

Post by Renaissance Man »

My understanding is that MOTU is filling orders for paid upgrades first - I have no problem at all with that.
I'm just wondering if any of us from the group who purchased DP5 after the NAMM DP6 announcement have received their free upgrade yet.
To date I have not.

I don't remember exactly when I ordered it, but it was early - as soon as I saw they were taking orders.

I got shipping confirmation, yes. But first my order history on the MOTU website got changed so you might want to keep an eye on that. If you see your DP6 order changed to a more recent order date than you actually did order it, don't be alarmed, it only means they've begun processing your order and you'll receive UPS notification within probably a few business days from that. (At least that's how it happened for me.)

I placed my order for the 'courtesy upgrade' within the first 24 hours that it was available and received an order confirmation email from MOTU a few days later. But I haven't heard anything since then, and DP6 hasn't shown up in my order history on the MOTU website.

Goner,
Did you order DP6 or were you eligible for the free upgrade (i.e. purchased DP5 after January 1, 2008) as we are?
That's what we're trying to find out - If anyone has received their free DP6 upgrade yet.

Yes, RM - I became eligible for the free upgrade because I purchased DP5 after January 1, 2008 and I have received my FREE upgrade. I am currently down in the abyss trying to figure it all out.

Post by bigwayne56 »

Hey all,

I got me free upgrade last Monday July 21st. I ordered 5.13 about a month ago, so I guess I got mine pretty quickly.

Hope it helps,

...............

no offense to you, dude.

but that is fu<ked up.

i have just lost alot of respect for MOTU.

even places like McDonald's adhere to a "first come, first served" policy.

i better hear something next week.(aside from the fact that i will be calling them on monday)

hopefully somebody at MOTU who cares is reading this right now.

Maybe this is just an indicator that the free upgrades are beginning to ship. I purchased DP5 in February, so the upgrade should be coming soon.

Perhaps, as some have mentioned elsewhere, by the time we get our upgrade copies of 6, MOTU will have released an update to fix some of the things that some folks are having issues with.

I think I'll give them this week to get the ball rolling on my copy. If no movement this week, then I may call them to make sure I haven't slipped through the cracks.

I placed my upgrade order the first few hours it was available online and I still haven't gotten any word from MOTU. i ordered DP5 in March, i thought that i would help motu out with a little income between release and january, sucks to be treated this way. I was planning to skip buying DP5 all together, in retrospect I should have.
