Motus 896HD FIREWIRE connection Stoped working!

The firewire connection does not work anymore. I tryed different cords and I tryed on 3 different computers and nothing. The computer does not see anything. Everything on the box seems to work fine exept the most important thing Firewire stoped working! I need help asp! You guys have not responded to me for the past week!

i think i just got the same problem as you the other week, when the firewire is plugged in, do the lights keep flashing forever when you turn it on too? and if you turn it on with no firewire plugged into the computer, does it start up normally? i've tried it on 2 dif computers too. maybe we just need to replace the firewire ports on it? :/

I finally got a responce from Motu and they said to go to motu's site and download an updated driver for the firewire "version 3.6.8.1" I did not try it yet because I'm away "Vacation" but let me know if that fixes the problem. Also
I did not get flashing lights when it was plugged in, it just turned on fine.

i don't think i can use that update... on a mac or can i? i tried downloading the latest mac firewire update that i could find, but it made no difference :/

Hi,

Did you find a solution for the no-firewire problem?
My 896HD had the same problem...I'm a bit afraid the firewire-port is not working anymore...It worked when I bought the unit (2nd hand)...at home my computer didn't recognize the unit. I tried rebooting, and reputting the firewire in...did I ruin the unit by doing so? A friend's Macbook didn't see the unit either...hope someone can help me...
