Can I create DP Drum Tracks on a PC using third party plugs?

Post by ltemma74 »

I find that I typically have about an hour a day at work where I'm daydreaming about writing and recording but cannot actually do it because I don't have any music software installed on my work PC.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend third party drum software that I can load in stand alone mode (i.e., no host sequencer) on my work PC to create MIDI drum files, and then use the same files with the same drum software on my home Mac as a DP plugin (not stand alone mode).

It looks like I might be able to do that with BFD2 or maybe even EZ drummer or Superior 2.0. But I don't know for sure and I am wondering if anyone does this.

BFD2 will work for you, i runs standalone on the PC.

I don't know about the others, I have no experience with them.

Toontrack EzDrummer or S2 will run on the free ToontrackSolo. And the EZPlayerPro will do the MIDI I believe. Awesome stuff there.

Also reason is a very handy app as well (and much more than just drums)
Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang
