D6 GUI is great.
Does anybody else agree? I enjoy the changes, especially the soundbite graphics, makes editing much easier on the hands + eyes.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but there are many who don't share that opinion.

keep the bombs coming!

still won't change my enjoyment of the new GUI.
also, for those of you who think it's too bright, lower the brightness of your monitor maybe....helps out for those long days, something I've always done when I start to get eye tired.
blue meters are just so much appealing than the kermit the frog green. The REC/MUTE/SOLO buttons are actually bigger than a gnat. Audio files are pleasant to look at and have different colors associated with them (way better for heavy track counts) MIDI notes have a nice little border around them. Info bars above are bigger and easier to read. Still getting used to the mini menu change, but i will eventually know they're on the right now. So many things to make me happy.....
and the new intro graphic/logo is so 5th avenue manhattan!
Only thing I'm ticked that they didn't change is the velocity handles - I still can't tell whether it's a velocity handle or a speck of dust on my monitor.
To each their own.

Although I haven't received my copy yet and haven't used it for long periods I must agree that I like the look of it from the screen shots so no bombs from down under only flowers

Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang

yeah you could either turn down your monitor ..
OR
Beam FBI interrogation lamps directly into your pupils
then the UI wouldn't seem so bright .. haha ..
BUT seriously .. i'm gonna dim my monitor when i also have an associated video to sync to ?? ... NOT ..
and maybe i'm just old school but i mix in almost complete darkeness
haha
I have an amber light that has a nice glow and makes for nice ambiance.
a bright computer console is not a perfect companion for "old school ambiance"
God help me if i gotta get up an pee really fast .. ahhh SNOW BLIND !!
:: sound of me running into the wall :: D'oh ..

This "remedy" makes me laugh. I don't have to change my monitor for anything else. Why should I have to do it when using DP? It's never been necessary in the past, why should it be necessary now? Sorry, but I find your solution to be quite lame.slicerecords wrote:also, for those of you who think it's too bright, lower the brightness of your monitor maybe....
DP 10.13, OS 13.7.6, iMac Pro (2017) 3.2 GHz 8-Core, 32 GB RAM, MOTU M4
Finally got DP 6 and installed on my G4 dual 800 today.
I like the GUI on some windows , but man talk about realestate, does any MFG make a 22" vertical span monitor?? The mix window takes up the whole screen.
Hire Grimey, hire Grimey
Its like someone inserted a font size 20 box with font size 4 text inside?
Is MOTU forcing us to get 2- 24 Apple displays. Maybe thats what they use?

You must be on crack. Add some other items to that Koolaid cocktail and you'll really enjoy the sequence editor.slicerecords wrote:Does anybody else agree? I enjoy the changes, especially the soundbite graphics, makes editing much easier on the hands + eyes.
