I've got those links too, motuhelper.

Your test sounds encouraging so far; I'm seriously hoping Shooshie's test favoured Altiverb by way of its use of a proprietary IR. :?

Haven't tried Proverb much other than to use it on a snare track that I'd also put the leveler on. Just used the "drum" preset and I gotta say WOW, very nice combination of the two. I also use Altiverb and love it and I think those who own it will still like Proverb. I can see each plug having certain strengths that will make it a go to plug for certain things.

Gotta try it on a vocal now and see how it responds to loud and soft passages.
DP 10.0, UA Apollo Two, UA Octo, far too many plugs.

Drag them into the waveform display in ProVerb and then
you can save into Shared or User accounts.

I just lost a long post due to my dodgy connection, so I'll try to sum it up briefly:

IR library corrupted (UNIX executable, long, old story).

Decided to re-download all files (huge task; could take 6 months or more).
Prefer to get it right, so what should I go for?
AIFF interleaved? SDII? Does it matter?

3 hours into this and it seems they're a mix of AIFF, WAV and SDII.

Simple question now:
Will ProVerb read these?

I don't know, I'm not sure you're a registered DP user.

Yes, it will handle all of those. The manual lists all those file types and an etc. Not sure what files the etc. covers.

Thank you, wurliuchi.

I didn't want to have to go to the MOTU site 'cause it's a pain to endure the slow page loading (slow connection) just to hunt down a simple particular.
That's great news. Thank you again! :D

Okay Monkey Man, I had a chance to try ProVerb a bit. The verdict so far is it sounds great. I compared it to the Waves IR, which isn't Altiverb, but is still a great sounding convo-verb. Proverb holds its own. It won't replace the Waves IR for me (or if I dump Waves and go with Audioease, Altiverb), but it will do the job. I think you will be very pleased.

I just played with this a little today and it has a nice clean, transparent sound IMO. I agree with Shooshie that it's going to take some refinement on the part of the user to make it shine, but it's already much cleaner than the WaveArts Masterverb.

I am avoiding my o/t comment here and hope we can keep at least THIS thread about Proverb...
