MOTU 828 MK3 Stuck notes in version 1.06 ?

Hi,

since two weeks I own a 828 MK3. I updated drivers and firmware at the latest version 1.06 for 828 and 3.6.8.1 for drivers. I’m working in Windows XP SP2 and in a laptop dual core 2.66GHz with chip set INTEL. I work with a buffer dimension = 512 and absolutely I don’t have audio problems.

The only problem I encountered is some stuck notes four five times for hour. I investigate a little with a MIDIOX and I discovered when this happen a normal note ON message (example: 90, 32, 53) at the place of a normal note OFF message (example:90,32,00) is followed by a message (90, 00,00) and the note 90, 32, 53 remain ON.

This happen regardless of host, every host produce the same problem, and it is exclusively tied to 828. With an USB M-Audio I haven’t problems and in the same way I haven’t problems with a Presonus Firebox.

Any idea?

Something to suggest?

Some other person experienced the same problem?

i can`t test it at the moment (not at home..) and also don`t use the motu MIDI at the moment.

I'm getting the same thing. The 828mk3 worked great when I was using it with a Mac Pro with 10.6. Last year I decided to build a dedicated audio PC with windows 7 64 bit home OS and a SIIG firewire card to connect to the 828mk3. I wasn't getting any stuck notes when I first built the PC. It was after I took the PC apart to install a new quieter CPU fan. Since then I get stuck MIDI notes from the 828mk3.

I do not get stuck MIDI notes from other MIDI devices such as, the M-Audio Axiom 25, Midisport 4x4, or a Delta 2496.

I want to use the 828mk3 for MIDI to eliminate another device for MIDI, since I only have two MIDI synths.

Hmm... I wish I could fix this, but it's annoying me. I'm debating about putting the 8282mk3 on ebay..
