8PRE Hiss

I have a constant hiss through my 8Pre. This is the same whether the volume is all the way down or cranked.

I just returned a Mackie 1200f after using it for a few months. While it had other problems, there was no noise/hiss. Is the 8Pre just a noisy unit, or is there something I can do to improve this?

I am running a Macbook Pro, OS 10.5.3, using Logic Pro.

Mine does the same thing. My old 828 doesn't and my DIGI 003 is as quiet as a mouse. Can anyone else confirm the 8pre hiss?

Mine gives a little noise floor too :( I just bought it and would return it but I bought it on ebay
