Official DP6 Complaint Page

Post by jmoore »

If history repeats itself...as it alway does...now that we've spent months complaining about how long it has taken for DP6 to be released, we must now prepare ourselves for the inevitable onslaught of complaints about how buggy it is. So, I thought I'd go ahead and do everybody a favor and setup the official complaint page.

.

I don't know what tongue in cheek means, but isn't this a little premature?

I've been told I'm very optimistic, though :?
Besides, to make a real difference, we would have to write MOTU about any possible malfunctions, which i really hope will be very few (the "normal" x.0 kind of issues).

I've seen this a lot of times around here, but can't find it in any dictionaries. What does "tounge in cheek mean", anyway? Is it like a grain of salt? :)

Ok, about those complaints...
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

I choose to be optimistic. I am really excited about version 6.

My only complaint with DP6 so far is that it's not here yet! (and that I haven't even gotten that notification mail from UPS even though my card's been billed)

It won't install on my system. I'm using the latest version of OSX. I upgraded from the combo installer. Still, DP6 won't install on my system. I think it could be a problem with my UPS delivery guy. Or it could be a MOTU problem, seeing as how they haven't billed my account for it yet, nor have they sent me a shipping notification yet.

I suppose I'll have to wait until it arrives and try again. Until it arrives, though, I'm afraid I'm going to be stuck with this installation problem. It just won't install!!!

Oh, and my billion-dollar check won't clear the bank, either. Not sure why. I guess I'll have to write another.

Sheesh... the trouble I go through.

;)

That's the problem, Shooshie. DP6 will only run on Windows XP or Vista.

My complaint is the 6 in DP 6 should have been spelled six

DP SIX

Outside of this I think DP SIX is a winner.
Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang

I've said before and I'll say it again. I think the best version ever will be DP 6.66.

That is, of course, assuming the tongue is planted firmly in his own cheek.

You're gonna need 256k. This thing is a memory hog.
