It's not important to start the chainsaw, having it in the hotel lobby is usually enough.

How can anything be off-topic in a thread devoted to off-topic material?

It gets worse:

If you stay "on topic" by being "off topic," aren't they essentially the same thing? Or do they cancel each other out--or even worse, explode like matter and antimatter coming into contact?

Two other questions come to mind: why aren't I working on something now, and did they forget to give me my medication today?

Enquiring Minds Want to Know :?:
Firstly, what constitutes off topic, how do we define it.

Secondly arn't you working on something now and sometimes absence of medication is being really medicated.

There are 2 schools of thought here.

One subscribes to the belief that the thread has no defined topic, and thus, nothing can be off-topic, since there is no topic to be off from. The converse theorem also holds - that nothing can be on-topic either - thus the entire thread is suspended is some kind of non-reality where nothing is here nor there.

The other school subscribes to the belief that the topic of the thread is, in fact, off-topic-ness itself. In this belief, the only posts that are on-topic would be posts that specifically discuss the off-topic-ness of the thread itself, or those that discuss the philosophical question of being off-topic.

I tend to lean toward the second school, which then means, Bill - you have successfully posted the only on-topic post in this thread about off-topic-ness. Congrats in breaking the code!!

Where are They?

Are Thought related to Mackeral?

Do you need a license?

Take Freudian and Jungian freedoms?

Catch and release or does the prior need explanation?

No...Use gel-ignite, it toasts everything and saves on electricity.

Maybe...

Are Austin and Tyler overused names employed by post-baby-boomer parents, or sister cities in Texas as Lima is to Lama.
