Yup.

Hey, you haven't forgotten about the inevitable carbon tax on fuel due in 1008/9, have you Mark?
That'll generate some debate, but the forces that be have already decided it's a goer.

Remember what I said about our losing our rights, being taxed to the hilt and the abolishment of private property?
Coming soon to a city near you.

when the rental market exploded in ca 10 years ago and home rental prices were close to 3-4 times the value of the property ( i remember being charged $1500.00 for something that a year prior was going for $600) I tried to organize a massive demonstration where a million people would stop paying rent as a message to slimy greedy landlords.......I think me and a few of my looser slacker friends were the only ones who came through, and got stuck with late fees. :?

My dp inspired music.....

OK, an update on the bird disaster thingy, Tom:

I spoke with the local member for the umpteenth time yesterday, but now that it's appeared in the paper he was much more receptive.
His secretary made a bunch of 'phone calls today and it turns out that what he's doing is strictly legal, as long as he only does it in his yard.

Looks like we're all stuck with this insanity until the guy moves, which probably won't be any time soon - I made it my business to find out during the first month he was here whether or not he was renting.
Turns out he'd bought the house. Being a bread delivery guy, he must've had lots o' dough.

Sorry to report the bad news, 'Cornies, but the newspaper article and Tom's words of encouragement helped bring this thing to a head. :D

I keep telling you Nicky loud loud music, off the wall programing late at night and late arvo, when he complains tell him that your scaring the pests away.

At the very lest you might get some tunes out of it :D

Seriously though I'm sorry to hear about your woes. Is there no way you could talk to the fellow and come to some compromise.

This is crazy Nick maybe you could get some dingos to eat the birds.
It must be hell trying to make music and record with all that noise going on. You need to move to a quite place.

LOL! Thanks guys.

Thank you for reminding me Tom about the music factor.
I haven't tried to make music in so long that I'd clean forgotten about this.
No matter though; I'll work at night, so only the owls and the odd kookaburra will offend.
Oh, and the occasional possum fight.

If I was better at being an asshole it'd be a no-brainer; I'd certainly crank the music.
I might be an ass, but I'm not the former.

Hang on... the asshole is the former when it comes to poomunition.

This is a photo looking out my studio window in the direction of the nearest house, it is about 1/4 mile away so you can not see them. This way I do not have any problems with noise in the hood, it is some thing that I really enjoy.

Ha! I finally got it... sort of, I think.
From Apple's dictionary:

larch |lär ch |
noun
a coniferous tree with bunches of deciduous bright green needles, found in cool regions of the northern hemisphere. It is grown for its tough timber and its resin (which yields turpentine). See also tamarack . • Genus Larix, family Pinaceae: several species, including the common (or European) larch ( L. decidua).
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: from Middle High German larche, based on Latin larix.

S'pose MLC's tree could be a larch, but I'm still missing something, for sure. :?
