Hopefully with DP 6's support for AIFF & WAVE files, interleaved files, and Final Cut Pro XML support, the odds of a successful interchange will improve.

After my research it seems that Premiere really can only export AAF and for me it really didn't work. Mostly the tracks are mono tracks, the visual part on the time line is mono but the actual files are stereo. Anyway, I know what I do next time when someone is asking to work on AAF files: making sure they have translated into OMF! Anyway I read this blog that I really recommend on the issue http://www.titusfilms.com/blog/2007/11/ ... filmmaker/

I think I will go tomorrow to the editor and ask him to give me whatever audio he has on nice few audio files and start from there. To be continued
and thanks again. your thoughts are helping me to sort it out
