Running WinXP. I had a 24i hooked up to the same PCI-424 via same firewire cable. When I cold booted Windows esablished communication with the 24i no problem. If I was already booted then turned on the 24i, I'd just have to open up the PCI Audio Console and hit refresh.
I just got a used 24o8mk3. It doens't establish connection from cold boots or by refreshing. I got it to establish a few times and it worked fine until I turned it off. It takes a really long time to establish connection with the computer. Multiple refreshes don't seem to work. I tried reseating the PCI-424 card and tried putting the audiowire cable in each of the available ports but nothing seems to fix it. I have the 24o8 connected to a digital mixer via litepipe. Sometimes before it connects almost all the lights come on on the 2408 and it send a noise out it's outputs. Then somehow after many tries and out of nowhere it'll conncet and work fine until I shut it down and start it again.
Never had a problem with the 24i. Does anybody know what the problem is?
Thank you.
Earl

Just fixed it.
I had the wrong driver installed I guess. I just reinstalled a different version and it's working fine.
