Need something to measure room acoustics, suggestions??
Hi,
Looking for some software to measure my room. I'm only interested in "sweet spot" acoustics, meaning to have the right acoustic, as flat as possible at my mixing position.
I apologize for the wrong terminology.
Any help or opinions are welcome as to software or proceedure.
Thanks

I've gone with SpectraFoo.
It's tough and worth every penny.

BTW, you'll need one (or two) measurement mic.

Brad, you're right that ARC is primarily for compensating for room nodes and frequencies. However, it does look like it offers some measuring capability according to the IK website.
From the IK Multimedia website:

I, unfortunately, haven't had a chance to use it, so I'm speaking strictly from what I've read. Others with experience with ARC can certainly add more detail. I was just trying to give the good Doctor another option to consider since he didn't specifically say it was for room design.includes a calibrated measurement microphone, measurement software...

How could something like ARC compensate if it couldn't measure?
In any case... I think you've got to use your ears and known source material to get the room into shape one step at a time. Identify and solve the problems one step at a time starting with the corners. When you can't identify any more problems in the room with your ears alone then it's time to look at measurement tools and final tweaks.
Doctor,
to a large extent you've got to solve the entire room before you'll have a sweet spot to believe in.
