last night i tried reinstalling just the motu driver and still does the sme thing. so i just called motu support but i am at work so i wasnt in front of my machine, he pretty much said he cant help me unless i am in front of it, cause there are a number of things he wants to try like change irq settings and stuff. so i guess the only way to fix this is to take a day off of work and call them.

i got it working now, i dont know what happened but it seems if i turn the motu on, and let leave it on for a couple min then start cubase i am able to get all the in/outs.
like i said not sure why it is working now but everything seems to be good.
i do have a new question if u can answer, it has to do with the effects on the motu, when my guitar is pluged in i can hear the effects on the guitar, yet when i record to a track in cubase i audio playsback clean, no fx applied to the track. do i need to set up a send and recieve to cubase or is there a button that i am missing.
by the way i just want to say thank you for all your help and answers.
