2408 Standalone mode vs Computer (324 card) - help please

Post by sailingguitarist »

Why is it that I can clock to my radar and my d8b no problem when the computer is turned off. As soon as the computer is on the 324 takes control with its software and I cannot sync anymore. I get computer playback but the audio is at half speed or less with noise.

The settings in the audio manager are the same as when the computer is off - tdif on all channels with routing. External Word Clock with correct sampling rate.

It almost seems like the unit is clocking to some other source once it boots - but I cant find any defaults file or anything for that matter - and the fact that MOTU wont put their manuals up somewhere in pdf file format - well What the heck?- what is up with that. Hello - its 2008!!!

Thanks for your input....

And - to make it more weird - when I click refresh - it sychs - then it goes back to playing weird -

I changed the clocking to Apogee d8b out - to radar - t'ed to MOTU 2408 in. It is playing the correct rate now - but it sounds like it is playing through a tin can - but like I said a second ago - when I click refresh it plays correctly - while it is refreshing - then it goes back to the tin can sound.

Thank you for any input....
