Extended Desktops

Ok, in case this isn't posted and for those who are not aware, especially pertaining to the new Intel Imacs.... when you add a monitor so you can extend your desktop, the Dynex version of the mini DVI to DVI connectors do work. They're about $3 cheaper than the Apple version. If you do use the mini DVI to DVI connection, you CANNOT use the DVI adapters that are usually included with video cards to try to plug into a DVI port using a VGA cable. You must use a DVI cable. This is at least my experience from this. I assume that if you want to use a VGA cable, you have to get the Mini DVI to VGA adapter and then you can use the standard VGA cable. Surfing the net and trying to figure out what I was doing wrong led me into circles. Some guys claimed that it was the fact that they weren't using the Apple adapters, other said that it was the brand monitors. I'm using a Hewlett Packard monitor with my IMac to extend the desktop and it works great. The picture quality is actually better than the IMac at the same resolution. This is just an FYI for you guys.
