Driver update
I am sending my unit back next week, the mk3 is a joke - and I really loved my mk2. . I filed 8 issues within the first day and only 1 is resolved so far. Don't they test the stuff at all?

Me Too!!
Sending mine back too, 1st thing Monday morning
I tried everything suggested and still hear squeals, I agree this is a sick joke, when you spend your hard earned money you want the product to work or at least be tested before they send it to stores with issues.
Please don't buy, not worth the money or hassle:!:

I documented the 828mk3 Firmware v1.05 Update instructions in a new thread:

Hi all,
I'm reading a bit here and there about this high pitched squeal etc and it appears it's a bit of a common problem. The reason I've joined in here is I have an 828mkII that I was using on my Mac, but have just shifted it over to my PC that runs Cubase 4 on XP SP3 as I updated the Mac Audio Interface. Since moving it to the PC, I have had this intermittent cubase 4 GUI lock up and high pitched squeal that everybody seems to be suffering with. I never seem to recall having this problem with the 828 a few years ago using it with the same PC ( although not CB4 ). I of course went on to doing a full fresh install of XP and all of my components but yes, still the same after installing the latest motu driver. The 828 is on a TI chipset, the cable has been swapped out several times etc, etc so I am convinced it's a driver, not hardware issue. I hope there is a fix for this soon. Anyone winning with it? Cheers.

Have a look towards the end of this thread - it may not be your solution but it will give you some good pointers towards diagnosis...
