Missing DLL?

Post by paulschreiner42 »

(Trying to) run MachFive2 on a Vista Home Premier Edition machine...

I've installed from the CD with a follow-up install of the downloaded Vista version, and done the download solo. Either way, after what appears to be a successful install, trying to launch the program returns the error message "This software could not find the required user interface DLL. Please reinstall the software and try again."

Any ideas? This is the only thing I can't get working right now...

I think it's time to contact MOTU...

Okay, found out it was a DirectX issue. It's up and sorta-running now...time to figure out how to use it!

I am having the same problem, with the dll message

Post by dwest63812 »

when i checked my version of directx, i am running directx10 on windows vista ultimate. I get the same message when i try to open machfive 2.02. It opens fine as a vst in sonar 7. I guess i will be calling motu support as an earlier poster suggest, lol.

i was able to finally get the mach five to open stand alone on vista, u have to right click and open the program as administrator, along with having the latest drivers for your video card, I am set, hope that this will help others.

However, be aware that certain Intel chipsets do *not* work with M5/Ethno/MSI. I kept having issues until I disabled the Intel drivers and let Windows take over...

Thanks! I was having the same problem and that solved it. I run into this all the time and always forget to try that.

What would we do without forums?

just like to say I was having the same issue, and running as administrator seemed to fix it.

BTW, I have been a MOTU user for over a decade now, and their support still is horrid. Never can reach them on the phone they take days to return emails. This forum should charge a fee to MOTU for acting as their defacto trouble shooter.
