Time for upgrade?

Post by DP5user »

I am running DP 5, 828mkII and MachFive 2 on my Powerbook G4 1.67GHz with 2GB. It's very slow and the latency is terrible- I'm starting to freak out.. i spend money on MachFive 2.0 and it's not working properly with my G4.

Should I be looking to upgrade Mac to a new model? Any input?

YES! A G4 was never all that powerful, Mac users refused to believe it--but PC guys like myself knew better. Since the G5, the Mac world had the same kind of power that that Windows world had access to and now with them using Intel processors, even more so. While I'm a Windows ProToolsHD user, I do have DP and various plugins on a standard $1100 MacBook and it's BLAZING fast---with a Glyph firewire drive of course.
Thank you,
