...New Reason for the High Pitch Squeal on the 828 MK3...

I recently updated the drivers (3.6.8.1170) and the firmware update (v1.05) and after NUMEROUS other reasons the mk3 triggers a high pitch squeal, when I load a cd or dvd into my rom, while listening to music or working with audio, the lovely high pitch squeal rips apart my ear drums as the cd loads. Increasing the latency doesn't fix the problem this time. And my wireless internet is disabled.

Any ideas?

I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D
XP Pro SP 2

Do you see any DPC spikes during those events?

If i understand what you mean by dpc spikes, yes...
