Digital Performer 6 is very close!
I saw it today in the Sweetwater catalog that has been delivered in bulk to my school. It is not for sale yet there though- not online. It is not mentioned on the MOTU site as being for sale yet either- just that catalog.
But it can't be long now! Power to the people y'all![/b]

Could be very close indeed, Larry.... but the Sweetwater blurb is just the next step, albeit a very encouraging one. If nothing else, it's another indication that DP6 is *real*!
There's still a lot release date spec floating around that ranges from "any day" to "end of April" to "whenever it gets here". But if Sweetwater has included an blurb about it in their catalog then it certainly can't be too far over the horizon.
I'm looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, DP 6 has been in the Sweetwater catalog for at least a month. I got excited when I saw it also.
Sweetwater will not take orders for it yet and will not be able to sell the upgrade. Other than that things are looking great!

Let's hope this thread hasn't been printed out by one of the DP6 coders and pinned up on a notice board next to the water cooler with the title highlighted in yellow with lots of added exclamation marks and a smiley face drawn in so that when people walk past they stop read it laugh a little to themselves, roll their eyes and walk away shaking their head in an '- if only they knew... ' kind of way ....
(but if it has - someone at MOTU please print this post out as well and pin it underneath, cos that would be freaky!)

Haven't you heard? Their walls are covered with U-nation prognostications. It's the one thing besides "Robot Chicken" that keeps them going!!
