Agreed, Zed.
Hang on...
Hey Monkey Man,

Let me just say that one of my favorite posts was one that you posted about people who climbed Mt. Everest and sometimes had to turn back before going the final few feet. That was a very inspired and appreciated post... AND incredibly there was not even a single mention of excrement!

Hey Zed, thanks mate.

No harm intended; I don't expect everyone to laugh at what I write.
In fact, it's reasonable to assume that some folks will hate it, IMHO.

We're good. Glad you liked that "going the last mile" post. :D

We laugh with you, not at you. Well, with the possible exception of your monthly avatar selections. Those we laugh at. :D

You sure are pushy for a new guy. But welcome to our wonderful world of BS anyway.

1 - All threads have titles. Reading the first post in a thread is also a good clue eg for this thread:
billf wrote:The DP6 Countdown Thread•„• ........ We know it is supposed to be "Q1" but rather than deal with facts, it's time for us to do what we all do best: speculate.

So let's get those guesses going. The rules are simple. Name the date and the time the first real post announcing DP6 will show up here on the nation. Whoever has the most accurate guess wins a prize of some sort, maybe.

Okay, let the games begin.
To be pedantic, the only post not on topic in this thread was yours! :)

2 - Use search feature

3 - Ask question if can't find answer - no noobs (or not so noobs) get more helpful answers than on Uni. If there was a prize for 'best treatment of noob in a forum' Unicornation would get it.

4 - Expect more sillyness than normal when major MOTU updates are overdue!

5 - Ask James for a refund :D

6 - Welcome and relax 8)
content is the new style

I don't know if this was addressed already, but does anyone know if the random level spikes issue when using VIs has been addressed in v6? If I remember correctly, MOTU has never been able to duplicate the problem? I'm doing a track with all VIs at the moment and it's terribly irritating. Seems like there could be the possibility for some hearing damage if you're monitoring loudly to begin with or use headphones.

I think we're all hoping that these kind of issues have been addressed in the new version. Since I gather that a lot of code has been rewritten, we will probably be playing with a whole new animal. Hopefully most of the major bugs will be eliminated, and hopefully there won't be too many significant new ones.

One thing is for sure... MOTU has said that they pay a lot of attention to issues and suggestions reported on this site... so I can't wait to see what they have implimented.

Some users have said that the problem went away under Leopard while others are still experiencing this. I'm hoping DP6 will indeed overcome this "phantom menace" because it's the one single issue I've never been able to get around.

That sentence was worth repeating!!

Where I'm able to temper my expectations with reality, I find that the greater challenge is to keep my needs caged. My hope for DP6 has taken on a life of its own at this point.

Pssst.........DP6 is now being optimized to work on Power Mac 8100's.
That's why its release has been delayed........pass it down.

Agreed, Mark.
As a cheersquad, we've been out to lunch.

[Monkey starts chanting...]

C'mon MOTU, bring it on
If not I swear we'll write a song
Of angst, impatience, death and woe
Unless you give us DP now!

[Monkey looks around, determines DP hasn't arrived yet, and resumes chanting...]

C'mon MOTU, bring it on

Of angst, impatience, death and woe
Unless you give us DP now!
