I would love to see what is different about British sign. My deaf coworker just told me that a girl he knows went to Britain and had a hard time signing with any one. He say's ASL is closer to French SL, funny I would think it would be English as that is what we more or less speak in the states.
On a side note; I was from Boston and Bostonian's sound the most like British in the states.
One difference - ASL uses one hand for the alphabet - whereas we use two.
I guess Boston is closest to the UK. Mind you, everyone under 25 in the UK talks like a US rapper.
There are different accents in sign? Wow, I thought that would be the one true universal language. How sad that it's diminished by regionalities. OR maybe as with spoken language, the accents add color.

I googled the UK 2 handed alphabet; wow it is so different. I also found a FSL and it has one handed alphabet but some of the letters are not the same.
The good news MM is that chimps have learned to sign.

Correct, Tom; I've learned to sign Afghan-style - I dip my thumb in a pint o' poo and press it against a new-fangled sheet of compressed cellulose, then I wipe it off on a roll of cellulose.
Square peg, round hole. Low viscous application purist. Anarchical thread hi-jacker.
It's not important to start the chainsaw, having it in the hotel lobby is usually enough.
I'm still waiting for my talent plug-in to arrive. I can only learn one plug at a time

A short song for MM sung to do you feel the way I do.
