Clippngs bug; Won't show up

Post by cbergm7210 »

Is this operator error, or a DP bug?

I have a list of various DP Clipping windows, but they do not show up in the Clipping Window list on a new project unless I make a new DP Clipping, then they all magically appear. Needless to say I then get a buildup of a bunch of empty clipping windows because I have to do this every time I want to access a clipping window in a new project.

Advice? Am I doing something wrong here? I have a feeling I am missing something.

Thanks, guys.

I usually create a new one,... then when they show up I delete the new one.

I can't make this happen with DP 5.13. Whenever I create a new project or open an older project, all DP clipping windows open. I suspect that there might be a problem with the template you're using to create the new project. What happens if you create a new project using one of the templates that is bundled with DP (such as Empty)?

I tried it with all the templates, no dice. There's just nothing on the clippings list until I create a new one.

Glad to know someone else experiences this. Anyone ever fixed it?

I've had this problem for 5 years, since pre-OSX days for me.

My solution is to keep the clippings folder in the dock.
It's quicker to navigate, clips always appear in alphabetical order (or you can sort them any way you like) and you don't have to constantly drag files to where they ought to be in the list.
Further, you can employ icons to good effect this way... :D

MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O
Novation, Yamaha & Roland Synths, Guitar & Bass, Kemper Rack

I started doing this too and it's so much better. I've written MOTU asking for better clipping management, but using the Finder is actually pretty handy.

I've had the same problem as long as I've used DP. I use the finder too.

Check at;

you/library/preferences/MOTU Clippings

Check if that folders preferences are set at read/write for both you and admin. ( get info )

That was causing a problem with AUM for me.
Maybe it's the same thing......
