Motu 828 MK3 and Cubase 4.1 - Sound output is interrupted

Post by mici »

Hi,
I'm new here and I'm a beginner with Motu and Cubase !
I've installed the motu 828mk3 software (fireWire) and work for 2 weeks without problmes in partnership with cubase4.
Now today I've a problem, and I can't get resolve it.
is my software driver 3.6.8.1132 the latest version ?
Sometimes i hear beep in phones connected to the phone jack at the motu 828 due an audio operation or without it too. When I play a cubase4 project, the output is interupted and hangs for some times.
I use windows vista 32 and cubase 4
Now I've reset Vista to an older point (2 Days before) , but with the same problem. An error occur during the installation von Motu software: error 1721 c:\programmfies\motu\audio\setupFWinstaller.exe /install driver.
I remove the motu software and reinstall. the status message says: gsif, MIDI, wave are installed - but not more - ist ist right - asio ??
If I've run the Motu Cue Mix console an error occurs: no motu audio devices that support cuemixdsp found ?
Now I've installed the latest cubase4 update(hotfix), but the same problem. During the play, the audio is corrupted and breaks for short and long times ??
One thing I wonder too:
I've delete (system/software) the motu driver and installed the Motu driver again. Then I look to the motu audio setup window - then i find the same configuration like befor the deinstallation (phones assigned to phones or phones assigned to main out, and so on)

Sorry for my bad english !

Many thanks
Michael

Hi,

I'm get a answer from the Motu support and they have some problmes with some firewire chipset manufacures (NEC, Ricoh, and VIA). In my notebook is an Rico compatible firewire adapter, maybe the problem, I don' no, of curse I don't have another firewire adapter (like Texas Instruments or a Lucent controller chipset) at this time. I have one free pcmcia slot :-)
Can anybody tell me, what kind of pcmcia adapter work well with motu interfaces ?

Kind regards Michael
