Try this.

If you already have an IK User account, please log in on the left hand side of this page before registering your product. This makes the registration faster and easier for you. If you are a new user, please complete the registration form below and click Submit. You will receive your Username and Password for the IK Multimedia User Area via email. Please help us improve our products and services: take a moment to fill in the OPTIONAL INFORMATION in order for us to better understand your needs.

Through this page you will be able to:

Register your product
Register and Authorize your product
Thanks for the link. I did find this before but I think the missing link here is that I haven't yet received the codes . The Registration page requests information needed to set up an account, but I don't have codes to register products so it looks like I can't really set up an account until codes are in my grubby hands.
Hopefully they'll be sent soon.

I did receive an e-mail confirmation that I joined the group buy followed by two subsequent urgent e-mails reminding me that there are just two days left to join the group buy. :? My account in the Members area of EZSounds indicates that I have a group buy purchase, but no other helpful information.

I'm guessing these folks are on overload due to the explosion of new orders resulting from the group buy. So it looks like some of us will have go through a waiting period until the codes arrive.

Thanks again for your support.

I can't say about setting up an IK account as I have had one for years with T-racks ...... but if you haven't already done so you can download demo versions of AT2, AJH, SVX etc from the IK site and start using straight away.

They are all fully featured for 10 days I think and they prompt you at start up to register or run demo mode. So when you get your auth codes in the email you can use the 'register this product' prompt to, well, register it - which includes setting up an IK account too if not already got one I think.

You should get auth codes soon hopefully (I got mine as soon as the target was reached, but I did sign up early) but like I said demo should tied you over until then....

(X-gear obviously not released yet so don't expect anything for that for another week or two)

Yeah, when I login to my esoundz account, my Group Buy order shows up, so no worries, even though my email bounced and I received no email confirmation.

Just got an email from Allen @ esoundz.
He's on it.

I plan to pass on the Amplitube 2 and for now just get JH and the full version of SVX.

That'll sort of get me a marshall, a twin, a showman, a bassman, a SVT classic and a B-15 fliptop for 180 bucks. Good enough.

Group Buy Deal?

Post by bjmorgan »

Thanks to Unicornation, I bought the Vintage Amplitube last week and got all the codes and everything went smoothly.

The only thing I don't like is the Ampeg UNO. It's a HUGELY stripped down version of the Ampeg SVX. I could get the upgrade for $269 from IK's site, but figured... why not just buy another group buy for $179? But that would mean I'd have two copies of the Jimi Hendrix & Ampeg UNO plugins (and Ampligrooves & X-GEAR).

Does anyone want to go halvsies on this? I would get the Ampeg SVX and you could have extra copies of the Hendrix Amplitube, Ampeg UNO, Ampligrooves 1, 2 & 3 and X-GEAR.

I'm concerned as to whether this is okay to do or not or violates any terms of discount, etc?

I don't think this would work. They're really just selling you Hendrix Amplitube for $179. Then, once you register Hendrix Amplitube, an IK promotion allows the owner of that account to choose Ampeg SVX or Amplitube 2 (or T-RackS, etc.) for free if you register before April 30th. Then SVX UNO can be registered to that account and downloaded. It's all done online within your IK account. Once IK releases X-Gear, it will be available for free to everyone who has 2 or more Amplitube products registered, and it will appear as a download in your IK account. The Ampligrooves and R.A.W. pack are extras that eSoundz adds to the download area of the purchaser's eSoundz account.

As for buying a second copy of Hendrix Amplitube in order to get Ampeg SVX for less than $179 instead of $269, I can see why it's appealing. You should probably first check with IK first to make sure that they allow more than one free plug-in per user account in this promotion.

FWIW, Amplitude 2 seems the better deal vs. full-blown Ampeg. Unless you only ultimately want one of them. Seems it would be cheaper to take Amplitude 2 for now, and upgrade Uno to full-blown Ampeg later on.

Keep in mind that X-Gear will allow you to mix all the stomps, cabinets and microphones from Jimi Hendrix and Amplitube 2 with the BA-500 amp and BA-500 cabinet from SVX UNO.

I don't see how it would.

Post by bjmorgan »

I don't see anywhere that says limit one per customer. It's basically buy one, get one free. If I were to buy it straight from IK at full price, I would still expect to get a free plug in.

As far as their concerned, I'm buying two copies with different serial numbers. It's as if I went into Guitar Center and bought 5 copies of Reason. Who's to say I can't own multiple copies? What if I have to authorize it on 10 machines (not that I do, mind you).

Perhaps splitting the cost might pose more of a logistical problem. I could probably just as easily make the purchase, and sell the extra licenses off on eBay or something.

I've already made one Group Buy purchase and will get all the stuff. But I want to be able to do it again just to upgrade the Ampeg.

Does that make sense?

Yep, also, Amplitube 2 seems to have a bunch of Bass amps/patches/models/whatever in it too. Given that bass is, as often as not, really just a direct from a DI and maybe a couple effects and EQ, I wasn't too excited about getting models for it.

Guitar sounds, OTOH come in a rainbow of colors. I downloaded and installed the Amplitube, AJH, and UNO today and spent most of the afternoon just playing the patches to see what was there. I think I'll be putting my VOX ToneLab LE on the market - this thing sounds better. The thing I'll miss is the wah/volume pedal - anybody know of a good MIDI hardware controller replacement?

So I download the AmpliGrooves from esoundz? What about the RAW lib they throw in? Will that be mailed or is it all just bits to download?
