No issue previous to 10.5.2 - similar crashes on ppc laptop, with nothing plugged into it.

So 10.5.2 doesn't work for me... here is my quandry ... I'd like to stay as current as possible with my os, in anticipation of DP6 as well... I know it's impossible to answer what will work best with dp6, but where do you guys plan on starting from??? 10.4.11 (or earlier??) 10.5.1 ? or whatever the 'newest' is... at the end of q1 ;) ... just curious for some opinions...

I've read numerous complaints about this around the internet. I don't have Leopard (or a MacPro) but it's a known issue.
I disable sleep mode as a habit, since I have had issues with it on both Mac and PC platforms going back years.
Some people are suspecting something to do with firewire, and that it might be solved with a firmware or OS update. Hope it gets fixed!

I guess I didn't really offer much help, but I thought it was worth knowing so you don't have to worry that something unique might be wrong with your system. Good luck, and I hope this works out for the best!

Hey Mike,
I just re-read my post... thanks, the question mark was in regards to your name, not the thanks!!... as you haven't corrected me, Thanks Mike!!
Indeed not worth it to troubleshoot further... I've reverted to 10.4.11 ... for now...
