Anyone use a Korg 01/W with an ultralite?

If I connect the korg 01/w to the ultralite, properly connect MIDI cables, play a note on the korg, should I get an "m" indicating MIDI in on the front panel of the ultrlite? If so, this is not happening. Is it the korg, the ultralite, or me? Is it possible to use the korg with the ultralite?

I know for a fact that MIDI data is leaving the korg.

But when i do the "test setup" in Logic (in the audio MIDI setup)...I get the blast of notes when i click on the the "korg" icon thingy.

I've been trying for a week to get the korg to speak to logic...i'm going nuts with this...

Also, if anyone is using logic pro, what would the "environment" look like with a korg (or any external kb) connected?
