Mixbooks.com experience?

Post by bkshepard »

Have you ordered from Mixbooks.com? If so what was your experience. I ordered a book from them on February 5th that they said would be shipped in 1-2 business days. After 2 weeks hearing nothing, I emailed them on Feb. 20 to ask the status of my order and never received a reply. Today, I wrote to them again and got the following terse reply.

"Your product has not been shipped out yet. All products come from different vendors. Please allow time for delivery."

Is this typical for Mixbooks.com. I order and read a lot of different texts, but this is my first dealing with them. Considering that they are associated with Mix Magazine, I thought I was dealing with a pretty reputable company, but am beginning to wonder.

I take it this is formerly "MIX BOOKSHELF"? Understand that magazines and publishing companies are far from the same. In fact, many magazines of different industries often share the same publishing houses, distribution firms, etc. I'd call them about your order, maybe it didn't actually ship or got lost.
Thank you,

Hey Brad,

Yeah, this looks like it's the old Mix Bookshelf. I'd love to call them, but they only have an email address and a PO box listed on their website. I'm generally a pretty patient type, especially if people let me know there's been a delay or a back order. I understand how those things work. It's the non-reply and the nearly-non-reply that bothers me.
