Thanks for that! My demos have run out, so it'll be great to get the serial numbers/authorizations for them before having to wait for 3/9! Looks like, at this rate, we'll hit 100 really soon!

BTW not sure how this esoundz referral thing works - but if anyone can mention my esoundz user name (LooseSnare) when signing up to the group buy I *think* we both get $5 credit for later online download purchases.

So are you guys saying that the current IK promotion wont work if I buy it through this Group Buy?
Like what I would love, Get the group bye , then turn around and be eligible for a Free Plug in from IK, like TRacks or something. That would be a smaking deal. Is this not how it is working??

I was checking out audiomidi.com:
audiomidi.com wrote:For only a limited time, buy ANY IK Multimedia plug-in or bundle and get an effect plug-in of your choice, FREE! Get up to $269 of FREE product - choose either AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, T-RackS, or Classik Studio Reverb.

(Offer only valid 02/21/08 - 04/30/08.)
I have Amplitube2, Ampeg, don't want T-Racks...

But I would like Hendrix and their ARC system, which appears to be one of the qualifying purchases at audiomidi.

Bascially, buy one get one free. Not too slouchy when doubling up on IK plugins is probably not a good idea.

Decisions, decisions.

Hi Frodo
We met I think at SIR, right?

Hey so I dont think the ARC thing is an option. Thats like $500. I think they exclude that one as a freebie.

I can get the Amplitube for $210 at academicsuperstore. Then get the freebie. This group buy looks like it just gets me a $11 discount, at this point, unless it drops to $179, then its like a $30 discount.

I;ll keep watching.

It will drop to $179 within a day, if not hours, for sure.

With this GB you also get IK's new 'X-Gear' and the Ampeg UNO thing (a very, very, very cut down version of SVX) for free.

.... Plus some extra freebies like presets for X-Gear which make use of both AJH and AT2 plug ins....

I already own 'em and my big question is: Have they fixed the mono-stereo bug in DP? I feel like every time I use AT2 or SVX, I'm spinning the roulette wheel, not knowing if my sequence is going to crash and burn...

Well if the demos are the same versions as the full then the answer is no - I've had a zillion DP quits of AT2 demo, until someone here figured out what was happening for me. Otherwise it's very stable in DP so far.

I was in touch with an IK tech about it (before I realised what was causing it) and now I'm a bit annoyed s/he never mentioned this (presumably known!) bug in the reply I got ... I will write back and suggest they fix it etc etc ...

For me though having AT2, AJH and X-Gear all at that price is too good to pass up.... my solution to the bug just means adding as extra AUX track so not too much of a problem.

Regarding the mono-stereo bug, I'm not sure if it's an Amplitube-specific problem or a DP problem. I personally suspect it may be a DP problem because when I was using Waves with DP5 via AU, the mono-stereo Waves plugs were the ones causing crashes most consistently. This was back when DP5 first came out and DP wasn't supported by Waves. Perhaps it still isn't, I don't know.

The Amplitube mono-stereo bug reminds me very much of my Waves experience.

Anyway, this is just a theory of mine. Please take it for what it is. I may be wrong. Also, please note that there is a workaround with the Amplitube problem. As a guitarist, I don't care for amp sims. But, between Guitar Rig and Amplitube, I take Amplitube 9 times out of 10. If you want a good amp sim, this is the one. The bug is really just a minor inconvenience. Once you're aware of it you're good to go. It's a lot like learning to save your DP project once every 5-10 minutes...just in case.

You mean the U-nation hang last Fall? Ah, couldn't make it, unfortunately-- unless there was another occasion, but I haven't been to SIR since right before they tore down the facility on Gower.

No, ARC is not the freebie, but if I buy ARC from audiomidi, I could get Hendrix or CSR for free.

That's the thing that was troubling me with the group discount-- I already have so many of IK's plugs. You may have seen the ARC thread, so that's been gnawing away at my brain lately.

Not sure what I'll do just yet.

Upgrade/Crossgrade for SVX from any other IK product including Uno is $269.99. It's a download only from IK.

If you go to their site and click the "buy now" button on any of their products it will take you to a page where all products/prices are listed.

Apart from the mono/stereo issue, isn't there also some issue with automation with AmpliTube in DP? I think I may have read about this somewhere, so anyone have any experiences with or knowledge about this issue? Thanks!!
