DP 5.12 hanging/crashing

Post by jumpin »

I'm sure you've all heard this problem a million times but I can't
seem to get past it. I'm running a Mac G4 700mhz, OSX 10.4.10, 1.2gb ram,
PCI424, 2408mkIIs, and DP 5.12.
DP is regularly hanging and crashing on me. I can't even get through
a mix of 10 audio tracks without plug-ins.

After the crash (OSX application quit unexpectedly), DP won't start again until I run DP 5.11 and
adjust the studio setup or the audio driver setup. Then DP 5.12
will start again but still hangs or dies before I can do anything.

I've fixed permissions on my system disk a lot of times, I've
uninstalled and reinstalled the DP 5.12 upgrade, I've tried all kinds
of audio driver parameters.

Any ideas? I'm completely dead in the water.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Hi

The G4 700MHz Mac is maybe little too slow machine for DP 5.
Because it just so and so passes the minimum requirements for DP 5.

More info:

Quote:
We recommend:
G4 dual 1 GHz or faster, or any Intel Mac (DP 5.1 or later required for Intel Mac support);
dual processor/dual core systems are also recommended
-1 GB RAM or more
-17" (or larger) monitor is highly recommended
