Word Clock Question
I have an Apogee PSX-100 that I use for AD/DA conversion and also master clock for my 2408 MKII with the 424 card. I just added a 1296 to my system. Will the 1296 automatically clock to the external setting on the 424, or do in need a cable form the WC out of the 2408 to the WC in of 1296.
Thanks in advance for any help

When the PCI-424 system clock source is set to 2408 Word Clock, the system ignores word clock on all other interfaces (in this case, the 1296). The PCI-424 card distributes audio clock to all other connected interfaces.BradLyons wrote:Keep the way the Apogee is already connected to the 2408, but run a BNC cable out of the PSX100 into the 1296 BNC input.

Ok here is the chain:
1. I want the Apogee PSX-100 clock to be the MASTER.
2. I am running the Word Clock out of the Apogee to the WC in of the 2408.
3. The 424 card is set to external clock, i.e. the Apogee
4. Do I daisey chain WC out of the 2408 into the WC in of the 1296, or will the 1296 receive the clock from the Apogee via the 424 card since the 424 is set to external???

Connect the PSX-100 word clock output to the 2408mkII word clock input. In the PCI-424 console, set the clock source to "2408: Word Clock" and set the sample rate to match the PSX-100's sample rate. That's it. No additional configuration or cable connections necessary. The PCI-424 card keeps any other connected interfaces in sync.

Thanks you so much, that was what I had hoped was the setup as I didn't want to get some kind of weird loop happening. Greatly appreciated.1nput0utput wrote:Connect the PSX-100 word clock output to the 2408mkII word clock input.
