424X card with two 2408mk2's. Windows XP 2002 Service pack2, 3.0gHz prescott chip, 4gigs ram, Asus mobo. I install Audiowire drivers and have signal to 2408's, audio record and playback using Sonar6 producer.
I shut the computer off to end session, when I come back and turn the computer on I get the "found new hardware" message and the Audiowire drivers not found.
I look in the C>program files and see the MOTU folder and drivers, but it the computer can't find them. When I go to control panel>hardware>device manager there are question marks where the drivers were. Repair drivers has worked only one time, have not been able to do it since.
I have to uninstall the drivers, remove the 424 card, then after a few attempts re-install the drivers, reboot, re-install the 424 card and then things are hunky dory, unless I power down again.
When I power off computer and power on, I lose Audiowire

Hi there,
I‘ve have no answer for this issue but the same problem.
I have to boot my system (WIN XP SP2) two times. First time the
Drivers are not installed. So I have to reboot (really shut down) my system. The thedrivers are installed (sometimes I need a third try).
And what sometimes happens is that the 2408 stops working.
After that I have to reboot the the pc again. Quite boring.
I also have had a problem with my onboard or additional Soundcard.
For that case I was forced to unstill the card.
But mostly after these implementation problems the card runs stable.
In my opinion is the reason that the Motu is designed for Apple
computers (like G4 or G5).
Keep Rockin`

Update
Sent the 424 card in for repair. MOTU tech support took about 2 weeks to get me a RA#. The card wasn't under warranty, I couldn't understand why I had to jump through so many hoops. Anyway got it back and now the problem is solved.
