What is plugin syncronization?

Post by cd-card-biz »

I downloaded an eval of MicroTonic, a very cool looking drum plugin (www.soniccharge.com). Anyway, I am unable to use it's step sequencer because it says my host (DP 4.52) does not support plugin syncronization.

I'm farily new with DP 4.52, but is "plugin syncronization" truly something it *does not* do?

Thanks for any info!

Yes DP 4.52 supports plug-in synchronization.

I just downloaded the MicroTonic demo and ran it in DP 4.52 with no problems. MicroTonic is a VST plug-in, so I used FXPander to convert it to an AU plug.

How are you making this VST plug work within DP?

Thanks Magic Dave. I am attempting to use it with AudioEase VST Wrapper, which I now suspect is the problem.

Dave - In MicroTonic, are you able to load one of the preset sound banks then simply start the DP 4.52 transport and have the plugin play at the song tempo? With VST Wrapper, nothing happens. I can of course program individual MIDI notes and sound the parts but I am more wanting it for just quick sketchpad type stuff.

Thanks for giving it a try. It looks like a cool little item.
