How big are DP saved Project files suppose to be?

Post by Turbobob »

Dp5 is saving my files at around 350-400mb this sounds rather large...anfdd they take a long time to load...I am saving around 10 Sequences or chunks with all song files and related soundbites. Does this seem normal?

It depends on the data in your projects. Audio files alone will be 10MB per stereo minute, 5MB per mono minute. So, for every soundbite you must calculate the quantity of audio files in the project.

As for DP project files themselves, an average one for me comes in between 1-2 MB without factoring in audio. But again, this varies from user to user.

When you save projects, do you have "duplicate audio" checked in the save window?

I'll see if I can find a thread about it-- I remember that this came up before...
