Control CueMix with generic MIDI control surface

Post by wolf2 »

Is it possible?
Basically, CueMix supports only few "high end" Control Surfaces (HUI, Mackie Control, ..)

But, if I configure my control surface (Evolution UC-16) with the same MIDI mapping like that "high end" Control surfaces, it'll work??

thank you for your answers!

If your control surface can emulate Mackie Control or HUI, then all you have to do is switch it to the emulation mode. Otherwise, it might be possible to program the UC-16 to transmit and respond to the same types of MIDI messages as a Mackie Control. There are resources on the web that detail the different messages and values that each control on the Mackie Control transmits. However, it's important to remember that the software and the control surface also exchange a regular handshake message, and it may be impossible or prohibitively difficult to program a generic control surface device to transmit and respond to the correct handshake messages.
