3/4 & 6/8 drum loops for DP

Post by Native State »

Hi Everyone,

I have been away from DP for a while, doing lots of live stuff, but am now returning to recording and have upgraded to DP 5 (was on DP 2.7 - ouch!)

I have some 3/4 tracks and 6/8 tracks I'm working on as well 4/4 tracks but am struggling to find any drum loops with these time signatures.

Does anyone know any good websites to try?

Thanks

Ruth

I'm sure there are some. In fact, I do have some cool ones by Siggi Baldurson that are in 5/8, 7/8, etc.

Since the typical audience is just so used to 4/4, loops with different TSs are not that easy to find or typical, which leads to my question:

Why don't YOU make your own loops at any TS you desire??

Have you tried Stylus RMX? The default grooves are in 4/4, but you can easily edit them to anything you want.

Also, if you have any MIDI loops, you can edit them yourself, and come up with "unique" ones. Unless, of course, you just want them ready-to-use, out-of-the-can, as do LOTS of our peers... If that's the case, try the Acid ones.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm using live drum loops as I want the feel of a live drummer.
Sadly my good friend and drummer Ricky died last year before we could record the tracks we'd been working on.

I want to finish them but it doesn't feel right to get someone else to join the band yet so we're working with live loops.

Do you have the Terry Pack ?

Drumcore looks like a cool site but doesn't list the tracks you get so I don't know if there are any 3/4 ones in there.

I suppose I should email them and ask ...
Thanks

Ruth,
My bad.
I just reviewed my DrumCore collection and it is woefully short on 3/4 stuff.
There's quite a bit of 6/8 and 12/8 with and without triplet feel but those grooves ae spread acrossed the Alan White, Terry Bozio, and a few other drummer's packs.
The complete application with all the add on packs would probably do you well but the free player with Bozio would not.
Sorry for the misinformation.

I called the guys at DrumcCore and chided them a bit (old friends) about the lack of 3/4. They're aware of the shortcoming and have some more stuff that will be added this year.
At present there's more 9/8 choices than 3/4.......
