dp and movie problems

hi, i have a big problem. i have dp 5.13, a macpro with tiger and the latest quicktime. everytime i try to open a movie dp doesnt give me the possibility of doing it, because it shadows the movie file as he cant recognize it. please could you be so kind to help me?

Is it a .mov file?

As long as I convert to a QuickTime movie first- everything works great..
You are asking DP to import a QuickTime file? right?

DP does not open the movie directly. See page 667 of the DP 5 manual.

yes DP do not convert automatic you ahve to import the movie first with the import comand,

at least that is the only method i know.

How does QT feel about it? Works okay in QT?

You might need to compress it to a smaller size, but also you might also want to tweak your DP work priority first. Try putting WP on high to see if that helps-- if it's not there already.

Can you tell us the steps you are taking to open the file in DP? Be as precise as possible.

qucktime, logic 8 and pro tools reproduce it without problems.
with dp, i open a new project, i put the sample rate at 48.000 for my video, i just click on project menu and i click again on movie
then, when i go to my video folder, dp doesnt give me the ability to select the file.

If you have quicktime pro, convert it to a .dv and see if it works that way.
