The 896HD is a firewire device. There's no need for a PCI card unless you need extra firewire connections.

Hello

If you do need a seperate PCI card, you would need one with a TI or Lucent chipset.

What is it that you want you PCI card to do? MIDI? The 896 should take care of the digital audio for you, so if that's what you're worried about, worry no more. Just smile and go read your manual. :)
