Weird, because MOTU sells that upgrade for $295.00 US. Maybe you are using a different currency and I missed that.

I have a simlular problem except my 424e is working. It's my 896hd and built-in card that's crashing DP.

You're right. I confused my PCIe upgrades, which cost me a fortune transferring from a G5 to a Mac Pro.

I've owned my MOTU 24 io for about two months now. I'm glad to post and to say that I've not had a single problem with it (other than not having a rack yet). I have it hooked up to my G5 through Logic Studio. It works like a champ and sounds great, even if it is through my Peavey's questionable preamps (to be upgraded soon). It has even survived one terrifying circuit breaker pop that killed the whole system without warning. I'm thrilled with it. Just thought I'd throw that in for your benefit, James.
