Hi folks, simple question here on how best / most efficiently to set up effect sends. I usually have 7-10 sends in a project - reverb or two, delays, couple of special effects, etc (all software/VIs effects). I go through a tedious process of, for each one, adding an Aux track, inserting the effect on the aux, adding a bundle and then changing the bundle name to the effect, then choosing the bundle as the input on the aux track, all that so I can just send a track to "Reverb 1". And then start all over for the next send. This is tiresome. I am curious if anybody has a more efficient way to do it.
Also, is there a way to just store a half dozen aux tracks / bundles / inserts as an "effects send group" so on the next project, I don't have to repeat this whole process? Most of my projects use the same basic group of delay - reverb - chorus etc.
Thank you

The only advice I can give you is to drag your bus to the top of the list in the Bundles window. Then you at least don't have to drag down the menu each time. Other than that, nothing. The Sends do not group, unfortunately. Trust me, it's much easier than it used to be! At least now we have stereo sends. Previously they were mono only, so for a stereo track, you had to do it twice, with mono busses, and then you had to specify whether it was L or R. This is twice as fast, if not three times as fast!

Yes, there are at least two very efficient ways to do it.
First of all create a new empty project and add all your sends, aux and effects as you normally do, and then save this project as template, that way, when you start a new project, just select the template, and everything will be there.
The other thing that works very well is to save all the data that you want to copy from one project to the other into clippings, you can create different clippings for different setups, and then just drag the one you want to the desired project.

I'll second what musicarteca said. I have many different templates set up which usually have more than what I need. I find it's faster to open a template and delete the few tracks that I won't need than start from scratch. When I start a new project for a band, I'll open a template that is closest to their instrumentation, modify it accordingly and save it as a new template with the band's name.
Also, don't forget that you can add multiple tracks or bundles with a single command (for tracks, hold down the option key when selecting Add Track from the project menu). And happy holidays!
