True Strike 2 Problems

Post by dickiebones »

Has anyone had issues using True Strike 2 for Mach 5-2? Now that it is all loaded up, everytime I select a preset, it prompts me that it cannot find the samples. When I direct it to the folder with the samples, it is really hit or miss as to which presets load up, and which do not. The performances do not work at all. Their tech support has been pretty poor, and is all via email since they are in Europe, I believe. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have found the same problem. The only thing that seems to work is to do a "Save Performance and Samples As." The dialog box has a little box you can check if you want the samples in a separate folder.

But you may still get the "Samples can't be found" black screen from hell. The good news is that they probably ARE there. That's been my experience anyways.

Yikes! I was looking at buying this library to run in M5. Is this a common problem that others are having?

I have to say that I've had weird issues with MachFive 2. For starters, I have instruments that I created in MachFive 1 that don't even make a sound in MachFive 2. I've also had instruments like my Taurus I that sound great on M5 1 but the looping is bad and makes audible glitches when loaded into M5 2.

Not sure what gives... but it's disconcerting when MachFive 2 hoses a sound that plays fine in MachFive 1.

I haven't experienced any other problems with the Mach 5-2, and have generally found it better to use than Mach 5-1. I figured the problem was with True Strike 2. I'm still hunting for an answer - Matt the MOTU guy was at West LA Music today (and every Wednesday), I just didn't have a chance to get over there. Perhaps after the holidays - I'll let you know what I find out. It is a bummer, though, b/c the presets that have worked sound great.

Yeah, a good friend of mine has the True Strike libraries for Giga, and they sound fantastic. I was hoping to be able to use them in M5-2. I'll be anxious to hear what you find out. Thanks.
