upgrading HD size in quad ppc?
im seeing some nice deals on ebay for some quad G5s(i only have a macbook right now.) but if i get one with minimal HD space on them is it relatively easy to upgrade the HD in it?

G5's are very easy to upgrade. SATA drives I think for the quads. Plug and play... but I'd reformat any drive you plan on using in Leopard. It's a bit picky about such things (in my experience, at any rate).aizo wrote:im seeing some nice deals on ebay for some quad G5s(i only have a macbook right now.) but if i get one with minimal HD space on them is it relatively easy to upgrade the HD in it?
Also, OWC has some great prices on RAM last time I checked.

The Quad G5 holds two SATA drives (the included boot drive plus one you can add) and has SATA ports for each. Installation is a tad more difficult than the new Mac Pros, which is to say it is very simple. This machine will hold only a single optical drive. One of the big advantages of the new, cooler-running MacIntels is the additional space available internally: Up to four SATA HDs (plus two more ports available if you want to stick a couple more drives in there somewhere) and up to two optical drives. I like my Quad PPC a lot. It runs DP great, especially with a few gigs RAM boost.
