Maestro... Well, I only have two channels of it. It's totally easy to learn and I don't need to think about anything. Since the Duet only has the click knob some things like Phantom Power and polarity reversal, as well as the input/output types need to be selected in Maestro. You can also use the knob to control up to four MIDI parameters, though I haven't used this feature yet. I find Maestro to be completely intuitive and as good as Cuemix, which I love.

Also, Apogee's drivers are rock solid and the volume control for the inputs and output come up in the same glyph-type graphics on screen as the Mac keyboards volume controls. Totally great.

Are the folks at Vintage Mics slow?
I placed an order on 12-6-07. Didn't receive any email confirmation, but had the good sense to grab a screen shot of my order confirmation. I emailed them to determine if things were all set. No reply.

Is this normal for them? If yes, no problem.
If no,...

Check out your account on their website by logging in. I never saw a single email confirmation from them and never had my email responded to, but my account had a status of "dispatched" and my mics showed up a few days later. Don't sweat it.

Thanks.

My mistake in that I didn't establish an account. Reason being I'm essentially an DI type and didn't think I would be a returning customer any time soon.
So I took the option to order without an account.

I can be impatient... which doesn't help.
Cheers.

Great googly woogly! They all sound good.
I've been eyeing the Apogee Mini-MP. Wonder if it sounds this good. I suppose it should. Thank you for the downloads and the work involved. Very interesting.

Thanks for the clip. I was wondering about these capsules for the longest time, unfortunately I sold all four of my mk012s already, but for people who still have them getting these capsules at this price is a no-brainer. It sure sounds like it captures a much fuller sound, especially the low end.

You could still hear the mk012 mids though, the darkish quality, which could be great on some sources and horrible on others. Anyway, almost makes me want to get another pair just so I could join the sale.

And as for the two interfaces, that BLA ain't bad at all. I actually prefer it over the Apogee on the Red cap soundclips.

I recorded some short acoustic guitar clips with my MC-012 and the pre-mod 828mkll.
I'm really looking forward to both the BLA mod and the Red cap.

The Duet sounds spectacular. But the 828 is very versatile in terms of connectivity and compatibility with legacy and current OS.
