Anybody importing OMF's from Avid?

I asked this twice on the list and no response so I'll try here. I was hoping to be able to sweeten an tweak the audio on a film edited on Avid Express Pro and we experimented with all the omf export options and for some reason audio that was part of a "group clip" would get imported to the soundbites menu but not placed into the sequence. All the other audio clips transferred fine with fades and all intact. I've mentioned this to tech support and of course they say this is an Avid problem but the filmmaker swears that the group clips show up in a Pro Tools import on the timeline so it must be a DP OMF problem. I've only tried this with DP 5.12 on OSX 10.11

yes I have experienced this too - from avid to DP-

fortunately I have had AVtransfer - this will sort the problem out.. unfortunately my PC just died - so I need to install parallel and Xp on my mac before offering to help..

it's around the same price as Digi's omftool - but is much more versatile - you can go from allsorts to allsorts...


if you have an Mbox - and it's the first time you install it should give you a working demo for a month... so that might be an option - ( I have in the past heard of people reformatting just to get an extra free month of digitranslator )

I suspect avid and pt people are smoking in the stairwells and working out ways to trip up companies not in the evil avid triangle...
