828 xp drivers disappear
I have a new Dell XP machine and I frequently need to reinstall the drivers for the MOTU 828. It works fine for awhile, often days at a time, and then my drivers disappear and I have to reinstall. This has happened about 30 times. Anyone have experience with this?
I have experience similar to this. When I first installed the drivers last month, every pair of analog input and output channels (as well as the various digital channels) were available to Windows - Control Panel - Sound Devices. At the same time all such pairs were available for selection in WaveLab's sound card preferences.
Shortly after, I needed to change the selection in Windows and found that the full selection of analog inputs and outputs were no longer available. I checked in WaveLab and discovered the same problem.
I unstalled the MOTU software and reinstalled the software and drivers and got all the channels back. A couple of days later the channels had gone again.
Today, I uninstalled and reinstalled again, but this time the channels did not come back.
I have posted a TechLink to MOTU, but the three responses received so far have been of no help.
