Best investment you can ever make is HIGH quality gtr leads and I mean HIGH quality spend $$$ or make your own. I used Switchcraft and Neutrik plugs and Belden cable Two leads i made in 89 I still have and have done countless gigs and i refuse to to any recording without them and they don't make a noise or a crackle.

But the main thing is they dont subtract your tone.
Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang
